01 Be real, be kind
You're anonymous, not invisible. The person on the other side is a real human having a real day. Talk to them the way you'd want a stranger to talk to you: with curiosity, a little patience, and zero cruelty. Disagreement is fine. Contempt isn't.
02 What's welcome — and what isn't
Most of Chatix is unscripted and that's the point. Here's the quick line between the two.
03 No minors. Full stop.
Chatix is strictly 18+. We age-gate signup and run active under-age detection. If you believe you're talking to a minor, use the Underage user report category — it goes to the top of the moderation queue. Any attempt to contact, groom, or solicit a minor results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the relevant authorities.
04 Protect privacy — yours and theirs
Anonymity is the whole deal. Don't pressure anyone for their real name, photos, phone number, or location, and don't share your own sensitive details either. Screenshotting a conversation to expose or shame someone elsewhere is a violation. For the full do/don't list, see our Safety page.
05 Keep it legal
Don't use Chatix to do anything illegal where you are or where the other person is — that includes selling drugs or weapons, sharing illegal content, promoting violence, or coordinating harm. We cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests, as described in our Terms of Service.
06 How enforcement works
Every report reaches a real moderator, not an inbox, with the last 20 messages attached for context. Depending on severity we may warn, remove content, end a session, or ban an account and its IP. Serious violations — anything involving minors, credible threats, or coordinated harm — skip straight to a permanent ban and, where required, a report to authorities. We don't notify the person you blocked.
