Chatix is a free, anonymous chat platform for adults who want a real conversation — not an ad-riddled relic from 2014. No phone number, no email, no app. Just people, talking.

Why we built it

Somewhere along the way, "chat with a stranger" became a punchline — synonymous with bots, ads in the message thread, predatory data collection, and interfaces that hadn't been touched in a decade. The whole category earned its bad reputation. We thought the idea underneath it was still good: that talking to someone you've never met, in a city you'll never visit, at 3 a.m. when you can't sleep, is one of the small magics of the internet.

Chatix is our attempt to rebuild that idea cleanly. Every decision starts from one question — does this make the conversation itself better? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship. That's why there's no profile to maintain, no algorithm farming your attention, no upsell wall, and no data broker waiting in the background.

What we believe

Anonymity and safety are not opposites. You can be completely anonymous — no real name, no phone, no email — and still be protected by fast human moderation, a default slur-and-threat filter, and one-tap blocking. We don't think you should have to trade your privacy for your safety, so we built for both.

How we make money

Chatix is free and always will be. We don't sell user data — not now, not ever. The site is supported by a small number of community-friendly ads on our public pages. Ads never appear inside a conversation, and we never share what you talk about with advertisers, because we don't keep it: messages are deleted within 24 hours of a chat ending.

Who can use Chatix

Chatix is for adults 18 and over. Anonymity doesn't mean lawless — we actively remove minors, harassment, and illegal content. Blocking is instant and silent, and reporting puts a real moderator on the case in minutes. If you're new, please read our community guidelines before you start.
